In making this decision, we are closely following guidance from public health officials and operating out of an abundance of caution. Please continue to pray for God's healing hand during this time.

Even after reading Luke 1-2, especially the magnificat in Luke 1:46-55, we know that being Jesus' mother (and family) must have been extremely difficult. What expectations do you think Mary had that were clearly not met? What hardships do you think Mary experienced in her journey to faith in Christ?
2. Reflect on Hebrews 4:12-13. Why do you think the Word of God is described as a "double edged sword"? Recall an experience in which God's Word penetrated you, "cutting" into you in this way. Do you remember the Scripture and/or the sermon?
3. Mary did not have a privileged position of "automatic" faith or faithfulness simply because she took on the role as the mother of Jesus. What role(s) do you think you have, whether you embraced it or were thrown into it, that at times limits your full identity in the eyes of others? What expectations do you think others automatically have of you simply because you have this role?
