One small church living God's big plan

Due to the evolving situation with COVID-19, we are suspending our physical worship service and will hold worship online. Details of how to view the worship will be shared soon.

In making this  decision, we are closely following guidance from public health officials and operating out of an abundance of caution. Please continue to pray for God's healing hand during this time.

Faith Seeking Understanding

John 20:24-31

Live Zoom Worship Today @ 10:00am!

Reflection Questions:

  1. What is your view of Thomas? In your opinion, what do other Scriptures about Thomas indicate about his faith or lack thereof (cf. John 11:16; John 14:5-6; John 21:1-3)?

  2. Have you ever had a serious battle with doubt in God’s existence or the validity of the Christian faith? Did anything in particular help to restore your faith?

  3. St. Augustine described the Christian experience with doubt as “fides quaerens intellectum” or “faith seeking understanding.” If there are things that God clearly does not mean for us to fully understand this side of heaven, how, then can we hope to believe?

  4. Do you agree that doubt is not the opposite of faith? Do you think wrestling with doubt can actually strengthen one’s faith?
